Winter Time

Mr Barrett has finished sweeping up leaves and it is getting much colder. We have been making snowflakes, robins and snowmen using materials from our environment...

Who needs drums?

Oakwood's Percussion Academy left the drums in the cupboard to finish off the half term...

Having already drummed on drums and had a week of body percussion, they decided to attack the chairs this time!

They had a fantastic time, thanks to Alex from Showcase Percussion Association.

PS. The Oakwood Schools take no responsibility if percussionists damage chairs at home!

Saving Water!

The Eco-Monitiors have come up with a list of ideas on how to save water. Here they are.....

1). Save water in the garden by using a water butt to collect rain water.

2). Have a shower instead of a bath.

3). Put a hippo bag in your toilet to save water when you flush.

4). Turn off the taps when you are brushing your teeth.

All change at Lunch Time...

We said goodbye to Mrs Smith, our long-serving school cook today!

She has been dishing up dinners at the Oakwood Schools for 28 years and we reckon that she must have cooked and served over 600,000 dinners in that time to thousands of pupils and staff!

She is now looking forward to her retirement and spending more time with her grandson!

We will miss you, Lorraine! Good luck!

A Sad Goodbye!

We said a sad goodbye to Kay, our lollipop Lady today!

She's made sure everyone is safe as they cross the road outside the schools for over three years now and we're sorry to see her go!

We send her our best wishes as she moves onto her two new jobs!

We hope that the City Council will find us a new Crossing Patrol Person very soon, but in the meantime, please take very great care as you cross the road outside school. Always look both ways and use one of the raised crossings.

Here's an important reminded about why you need to cross carefully:
